Rated 5 out of 5 by RichWriter from HUGE improvement over TV Ears For not much than the cost of replacement batteries for my wife's TV Ears 2.3, we got these wireless headphones. Far more comfortable and vastly superior sound quality compared to the TV Ears.
Range is good. They have adequate volume but don't go real loud using our cable converter box as the source. Installing the batteries is frustrating as it requires removing (easy) and replacing (the frustrating part) one of the foam ear covers. Despite these niggling faults, these are one of the best purchase decisions and one of the best values in our recent shopping experiences. And, as always, excellent pricing and service from B&H.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Everything you need is in the package I bought these headphones for my daughter who lives in a college dorm. I tried them out with our TV and an electronic piano keyboard. I detected a slight background hiss when near the keyboard (which is where you want to be). The sound was a fuller and richer than the internal TV speakers produce. I walked around a bit and there was a momentary hiss when I was about 30' from the TV, and when I went to other rooms it started picking up more and more background interference, but that is not how they will used.
The headphones are very comfortable even when worn over eyeglasses. I really appreciated how JVC includes adapters for the various types of audio connections that devices need.
In addition to the small jack, the larger jack and an RCA style interfaces are supported. I also appreciate that the AC transformer for the base station, and the rechargeable batteries for the headphones, are included.
The headphones have to be placed correctly on the stand to be recharged; I wonder if my daughter will hit the mark correctly and notice that the charging light comes on. All in all a very nice product that I would recommend to a friend. Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Don't let the low price fool you I use these headphones in the cube farm environment.
They work flawlessly and provide me with hours of comfortable wear. At first I discovered a large amount of hiss but discovered after looking at the instructions that I should turn the volume all the way up on my PC and then use the volume control on the headphones eliminating the hissing noise. I also appreciate the fact that the rechargeable batteries are included and that they will recharge when placed in the cradle. Rated 3 out of 5 by David H.
From Good Quality for TV, Not Music We use these for casual listening after the early birds haven gone to bed. Its great for TV, Radio, or Computer use. The headband and earcuffs are comfortable, and reasonably light.I don't use these for serious listening. They are not very capable when it comes to music. Listening to classical, the bass seems boomy and muffled, while upper range seems harsh.
Midrange is alright, but nothing to write home about. With jazz the story is much the same, except that the complex mid-range interplay of trombone, piano and sax came out a bit soupy. For Hip Hop, real bass came out a mess.
Bass runs that I know are tight and clean came out faded and edgeless: loud but messy. Speech was likewise slack. Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from All is well! These are great for TV use.
We purchased a second set after likeing the first one. We liked the fact that the signal passed through walls and we were able to hook two headphone sets up, one on each of two tvs, with no real problems as the headphones will pick the strongest signal and ignore the weak signal form the more distant TV. Thus both headphones could be used with either tv. Or each headphone could be used on a different tv located in a separate room.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Born2Roam from Huge improvement and a bargain For not much more than the price of replacement batteries for the TV Ears my wife was using, we got these. Vastly better sound quality. More comfortable. Better range and no need for line-of-sight to the transmitter. Volume is adequate, but no more than that. We're using our cable box as the source, though, and I'm sure its output is minimal.
Installing the batteries was frustrating as it requires removing (easy) and replacing (frustrating) one foam earpad. Rated 4 out of 5 by The Geeser from HA-W600RF Wireless Headphone Review We ordered these wireless headphones for my father who has difficulty hearing the television with others in the room. Once the volume was adjusted they have performed very well.
The comfort level of these headphones is very good and the battery life seems to be as advertised. There are two (2) things that are a bit annoying and they are the location and size of the volume control (too small and hard to locate without removing for a visual location), and placing the headphones back into the charges requires your complete attention. Locating the charging connection is difficult without careful placement on the charger. It would be much easier if there were charging connectors on each side to ease recharging the headphone battery.
